Industry Experts Guide Strategic Direction
San Diego, CA - December 10, 2008 - Healthy Dining, the nation’s most experienced provider of nutrition services for the restaurant industry, announces the creation of a new Board of Directors, whose members have a history of strong leadership success in the restaurant, food, and hospitality industries. “Healthy Dining’s new board members bring a wealth of restaurant industry knowledge and strategic expertise, as we continue growing our client base, currently representing nearly 60,000 restaurant locations,” states Anita Jones-Mueller, Healthy Dining’s founder and President.
Healthy Dining, which has supported the restaurant industry since 1990 and is a partner of the National Restaurant Association (NRA), provides restaurants with a suite of nutrition services ranging from comprehensive nutrition analysis to gluten and allergen identification to consulting services that help increase the healthfulness of menu options. The site features dietitian-approved Healthy Dining menu options served at participating locations ranging from fast food to fine dining.
Fred LeFranc: Mr. LeFranc has served as a restaurant CEO, executive and/or board member for more than 30 years. He is currently the president of Results thru Strategy, Inc., a consultancy providing strategic planning, leadership training, and business development for the restaurant industry and vendor community. “Healthy Dining’s services are vital to the health of Americans. Their mission resonates with my values in providing customers well-informed choices when dining out,” LeFranc says.
Alan Gould: Mr. Gould was most recently the publisher of Nation’s Restaurant News (NRN), the largest foodservice industry publication, and corporate vice president of Lebhar-Friedman, Inc., NRN’s parent company, until he retired in January 2008. Prior to NRN, Mr. Gould headed the worldwide public relations staff of Hilton International. "I jumped at the opportunity to become a member of the Healthy Dining Board because of the company's leadership position in the foodservice industry and the importance of its business in today's health-conscious and regulation-driven society,” Gould says.
Sheri Miksa: Ms. Miksa has over 25 years of leadership and board experience in the restaurant, hospitality and food industries. She most recently served as CEO of Robeks Juice Franchise Corporation. “It was an ‘easy yes’ to join the Healthy Dining Board – they have long been the industry's respected ‘go-to company’ for nutrition services; I utilized Healthy Dining when I was CEO of fast-casual chain, Rubio’s Restaurants. I also use HealthyDiningFinder.com as a consumer when I am seeking delicious and more healthful options when eating out,” emphasizes Miksa.
Debi Benedetti: Ms. Benedetti’s knowledge and experience span over 30 years in the hospitality industry. She was a founding corporate officer of Bon Appetit Management Company and held various positions in Saga and Marriott Corporations. She founded “Beyond the Possible” to coach and assist executives in the hospitality and food industries. “Healthy Dining Finder is an incredible concept,” says Benedetti. “Through the speed of the web, it offers the consumer comprehensive information to help with menu choices; it offers restaurateurs a vehicle to market their more healthful menu items.”
