Healthy Dining Tasting Extravaganza & Seminar Featured at the California Dietetic Association Conference
San Diego, CA – April 23, 2009 – Four hundred dietitians attending the California Dietetic Association’s (CDA) annual conference will be treated to a “Tasting Extravaganza” featuring samples of Healthy Dining options served at The Old Spaghetti Factory, El Pollo Loco, Panera Bread, Quiznos Subs, Straw Hat Pizza and Pita Pit.
The ‘Tasting Extravaganza will be held at the Riverside Convention Center in Riverside, California from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on opening night of the conference, Thursday, April 23, 2009. The tasting event offers dietitians an educational experience to taste and learn about the Healthy Dining options served at participating restaurants. Additionally, the event provides restaurants with a unique opportunity to reach dietitians and showcase their healthful selections.
Healthy Dining’s President, Anita Jones-Mueller, MPH and Director of Nutrition, Nicole Quartuccio, RD, will provide an educational seminar for dietitians during the conference titled: “Engaging the Restaurant Industry to Create and Promote Healthier Cuisine.” The seminar, scheduled for 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. on April 23, will describe how the Healthy Dining Program is helping restaurants to offer menu items combining taste AND nutrition. The seminar will also include a tour of Healthy Dining’s signature website, www.HealthyDiningFinder.com, which helps dietitians educate their patients and clients on how to make healthier choices when dining out.
